On Friday, 29 August, we teamed up with Jakarta Film Week for not one, but two special screenings at Teater Asrul Sani, Taman Ismail Marzuki!

We kicked things off with the CinemaSHORT Audience Choice Award voting, where the crowd got to watch five of the shortlisted films from our Asian Short Film Competition. It was a great opportunity having film lovers come together in support of emerging Asian filmmakers.

Later that evening, we brought Sweet Dreams (a Global Feature Competition Nominee at Jakarta Film Week 2023) back to Jakarta’s big screen. While we understand that many couldn’t make it due to the situation in the city, we’re incredibly grateful to those who braved the circumstances and joined us. Your support and love for cinema truly keep us going. 

A huge thank you to our partners at Jakarta Film Week, to all the filmmakers, and of course to everyone who came (or cheered us on from afar). We’ll see you again at the next one!
