About the Programme
Every film starts with an idea.
That first idea can be anything: a situation, a setting, a feeling, or a simple premise.
But when does an idea become a story? What distinguishes a situation from a narrative? How do we bridge the gap between something that merely happens and a purposeful plot? Is “A family is trapped in a house during a thunder storm” already a story—and if not, how does it become one?
This workshop, led by Script Consultant & Producer Josune Hahnheiser, explores the difference between situations and stories. Using discussion, examples and practical exercises we’ll examine elements that can help transform an initial idea into a meaningful narrative. Active participation will be central to learning through practical application.
This workshop is supported by CinemaSHORT’s Education Partner: LASALLE College of the Arts, University of the Arts Singapore.
